Radical transformation of the Grade II* listed Hancock Museum located in Newcastle upon Tyne to create a new flagship museum, The Great North Museum.

As well as the extensive internal restoration the project includes a new three storey extension at the rear to house special exhibitions, council/social rooms, library, archives, and education zone.

The scheme unites three hitherto hidden but significant museum collections into one building – the Hancock, the Museum of Antiquities and the Shefton (Greek) Collection.
